30 Nov James Blake Miami Debut Performance at National YoungArts Foundation Campus on December 5
Critically acclaimed English singer and producer James Blake will perform live in Miami for the first time on December 5 as part of a concert series brought to you by Beck’s Access, III Points Festival, and MoMA PS1 at the National YoungArts Foundation Campus.
Blake’s second studio album, Overgrown, won the Mercury Prize in 2013 and garnered the artist’s first Grammy nomination at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for Best New Artist. A veritable sonic tour de force carried by the crooner’s powerfully soulful singing and songwriting, Overgrown‘s exceedingly positive reception has seen Blake emerge as one of the most universally acclaimed indie artists on the international stage.
Blake recently spoke to Miami New Times about the progress on his new album, from which he will be unveiling new material during his highly anticipated Miami debut performance.
“We’re going to be playing new things, to show people a taste of what it will sound like. There’s a number of songs I want to play, but only two or three I think we should, just because it’s early — we still have about five months before the record comes out. So we’ll hammer them out and see what people think. I’ve never been to Miami before, so I’m very excited.”
